JM Pediatric Therapy
Joyful Music and Pediatric Therapy recognizes that the most meaningful and purposeful learning experiences occur in everyday activities within the family and the school environments. That is why we have implemented a new, musically based therapy service that we are very excited to tell you about.
We realize that a child grows and learns best when all of their caregivers and peers are focused on a positive and strengths based approach. The goals for therapy are chosen by the parents and are based on the major challenges and stressors experienced by the family, including siblings, related to their child’s disability.
JMPT focuses on:
- social communication (how the child communicates with caregivers and peers),
- emotional regulation (being able to manage emotions during transitions and other stressful experiences)
- and transactional support (making sure that all participants in the child’s life have the skills and resources needed to ensure that they have the greatest sense of success and emotional satisfaction in their relationships).
JMPT uses individual Occupational Therapy and/or Music Therapy Sessions as well as Co-Treatment and Group Sessions.
