Instrument Lesson Policies

Policies for Music Lessons -January 2009

Welcome to Joyful Music and Dance Studios. We are so glad that you have decided to take music lessons
here at our studio. Below are our guidelines for families and students:

Payment:

JMDS offers a monthly payment plan. You will be invoiced on the 1st of each month for the upcoming month. Payments are due on the 5th of each month. There will be a 20% fee added on for late payments. Some months may have 4 weeks of lessons and some will have 5 weeks. You will be charged accordingly.

Cancellations:

You are allowed one make-up lesson every quarter (3months). You may schedule your make-up lessons directly with your instructor. If the instructor is ill and unable to teach on the day of your lesson, she will contact you to re-schedule a lesson time.

Inclement Weather:

The music studio follows the Seminole County Schools. If they are closed for bad weather, we will close also.

Parents or Caregivers:

We request that a parent or caregiver attend the first 3 or 4 lessons with your child. This helps you, the child and the instructor.

Piano:

You will need a piano or a full-sized keyboard so that you may practice routinely.

Guitar:

You will need a guitar and tuner so that you can practice routinely.

Other Instruments:

If you have chosen to take lessons for another instrument, you will be required to have the instrument so that you can practice routinely.

Recitals:

Recitals will be scheduled each year during the months of December and May.

Instructors:

We want you to feel comfortable with us and with your instructor. We recommend that you and your student come in for the first lesson. You will be charged for the one lesson and you may at that point decide to sign-on with that instructor.

It is important to us that this be a joyful and successful experience for you and your student.
